We are in a season of change and transition. And the Lord spoke to us to take the 100 Days before August's meeting as a time of preparing our hearts to go through the "new door' that He is opening.
And we want to encourage you - whatever the Lord is showing you/doing in your life, we would love to hear it. Just send an email to share@awakenthedream.org.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will…Ephesians 1:11
Now when David had served God’s purposes in his own generation, he fell asleep.. Acts 13:36.
Every generation has a mandate from God – a specific divine purpose that has been hidden in the heart of God since the beginning of time; a mystery, if you will, a part of His divine plan that is meant to be revealed and established in the earth through a chosen group of people destined to be born at a specific point in time.
So what happens then if a generation doesn’t really know who they are or what their purpose is?
Well there is a distinct possibility that the purpose of God for that generation may end up partially or totally unfulfilled. And if each generational mandate is part of a much bigger plan, and we, as believers, belong to a long procession of faith, then that unfulfilled purpose can affect a lot more than this one generation. It has the power to affect every generation that comes after it and even impact the timings of God’s master plan.
We believe this is why God is releasing a call in the Spirit at this time focused on Generation X (born c. 1965-1979,) a generation that has been largely scattered and voiceless in the Church. Wired for intimacy with God and community in the Body, Xers have found it challenging to connect in churches which seem to place more value on programs and performance than on relationships. Discouraged or disillusioned, many from have simply “checked out” – either physically (leaving churches and ministries or the faith) or emotionally (attending without really engaging their hearts).
And yet, God has a mandate for Generation X which includes helping to birth a new wineskin in the Church – one which will help transition the emphasis from purpose to Presence and from function to family. To equip us for this mandate, God designed Gen X with a passion for worship and His presence and a desire to see the Holy Spirit honoured in His leadership of the Church. He also gifted us with a wisdom and insight into relationships, so that we might function as a relational bridge, spanning the gaps between the generations, restoring honour to the older for their many years of faithfulness and providing safety and space for the diverse expressions of the kingdom that are carried in the hearts of the younger.
We believe this year represents a turning point for Generation X, a time when our destiny is coming into collision with the timings of God. Across our nation, the Lord is awakening hope and connecting together remnants of Gen Xers whose hearts are to serve the purposes of God for Canada in our generation. A desire is rising among Gen Xers to honour the sacred trust, the inheritance of faithful generations that has been passed to us, while at the same time, as good stewards, building upon that inheritance, adding our pre-ordained part for the sake of the generations that will follow.
Part of this remnant of Gen Xers is being called to gather this August in Edmonton, where, alongside spiritual fathers and mothers and with the witness of the younger generations, we will begin together to seek God’s face for His steps in unlocking our “destined purpose” as a generation in Canada.
So today, 100 days before we gather in Edmonton, let’s begin to prepare our hearts and the spiritual ground for our time together, by making this simple declaration together: God I choose today to be one of those who will stand to see Your purposes served in my generation.
Thee Awaken Team
Our desire is to hear what God is saying for the August meeting and more broadly what He is revealing concerning Gen X in this hour through as wide a representation of the Body as possible. If you have something you feel to share, please email us at share@awakenthedream.org.
For a few weeks I have been hearing the phrase “100 Days”. And I felt the Lord was alerting me about the 100 days leading up to the gathering (May 15 to August 22). So I looked up “100” in a book of “Bible symbols and numbers” – but found nothing significant. So I decided to google the phrase and discovered it refers to an Allied offensive in the last 100 days of the First World War. What was more interesting was that this period is routinely referred to as “Canada’s 100 days”
“… due to the substantial role the Canadian Corps of the British First Army played in causing the defeat and/or retreat of the German Army in a series of major battles from Amiens to Mons which along with other Allied offensives ultimately led to Germany's final defeat and surrender…In terms of numbers, during those 96 days the Canadian Corps' four over-strength or 'heavy' divisions of roughly 100 000 men, engaged and defeated or put to flight elements of forty seven German divisions, which represented one quarter of the German forces faced by the Allied Powers fighting on the Western Front. However their successes came at a heavy cost, the Canadians suffered 20% of their battle-sustained casualties of the war during the same period.” (Wikipedia)
Until this offensive began (August 8, 1918) the commanders of the Allied forces were already planning for another major attack in 1919 because they just could not conceive of end to the war in 1918.
“But the first day of the attack, August 8, saw the attacking forces broke through the German lines in dramatic fashion, with the Canadians pushing as far as 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from their starting points…The swift advance led to a rapidly spreading collapse in German morale that ultimately led Erich Ludendorff to dub it "the Black Day of the German Army" when he was told of the psychological impact on his men.” (Wikipedia)
So successful was this Canadian advance that the whole course of the war changed. Armistice talks soon began that led to the end of the war at 11:00 am November 11, 1918.
As I read this I felt the Lord say that the 100 days leading up to the gathering may be some of the fiercest fighting we have experienced in what may have already been a long drawn out season of war. For some of us, we may feel that we have been fighting so long we can’t imagine anything but war.
But God is saying we have entered into a kairos time of transition – a change of season is coming. And despite what the circumstances around us may be or what our minds or emotions are saying, we need to set our face like flint and keep our focus on what the Spirit is saying. All that God has promised will come to pass because He is faithful and He cannot lie!
The Lord has also been speaking to us afresh about the power of worship – of entering into places where we abandon ourselves into the presence of God and allow Him to speak revelation directly to our spirits. As part of our preparation for this summer, groups in different cities/communities are gathering for times of worship (if you want to find out if there is a group in your area just email us at info@awakenthedream.org.)
But even if we are physically separated we can still enter into worship corporately by sharing music the Lord is highlighting to us in this season. Some of this worship was released spontaneously during various gatherings in Canada and represents prophetic decrees from heaven over the Church of Canada, while other songs give voice to the passionate cry of the Bride for the Bridegroom that is intensifying in the earth today. As we listen and worship, wherever we are, we can come into agreement with God and one another that His desires are being accomplished in our lives and in our nation in this hour.
Looking forward to journeying and worshiping together until we meet face to face in Edmonton in August!
Love

I set my face as flint before You now
My life I recommit here as I bow
I love it when you gently kiss my brow
And You whisper it’s all right.
A few weeks ago, the Lord said this to me about the August meeting “it’s not about the past, it’s not even about the present, it’s about the future. I am looking for a remnant who will look with the eyes of faith at “what is to come” and, by “calling those things that be not as though they were”, become a conduit through which I can bring My plans, hidden in eternity, into the earth today.”
A few days later I was in a worship time with some friends and afterwards we were sharing what God had been revealing. My pastor, Rick, mentioned a familiar passage from Isaiah.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
“I heard the Lord say,” Rick continued, “if you don’t let go of the old processes, the old ways of thinking, you will be unable to embrace the new. Many of the Jews were looking for Messiah, but when Jesus came, they were not able to embrace him because they were still holding onto old ways, old ideas of how things were going to be.”
The following week, I was sharing this verse with some friends of mine, when suddenly I had a vision. I saw one of my prayer diaries, filled with handwriting, opened to the last page. As I watched, the writing began to disappear, from the bottom of the last page to the top, through to the next page. Then the pages of the book began flipping backwards, faster and faster, and as they did, I could see that each page was being erased. And I heard a voice saying “Clean slate! Clean slate! Clean slate!”
I think that what Rick heard and what I saw is a part of the process the Lord wants to take us on over these hundred days. The word of the Lord to us in this season is that the door is open, from Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this. (Revelation 4:1)
Through that open door is the future – the things that are to come. But for us to even be able to see/perceive the new, first we have to forget the “former things”. Now this can be a struggle for a number of reasons. Maybe we have had bad experiences and wounds in the past that are still framing the way we see God and ourselves today. Or maybe we’ve lost hope and we aren’t sure if anything really can or will change. Or maybe it’s the opposite - we’ve had some great experiences and we finally feel like we’ve found a comfortable rhythm in our walk with God and we don’t want to “upset the apple cart” with something new. Human beings are by nature creatures of habit and we find comfort and safety when things are predictable and controllable.
But in this time of transition, God wants to shake all those things that are holding us or that we are holding onto so He can bring us to the place where we find our safety, our identity, our hope and our security in Him and Him alone. He wants us to be able to anchor our lives on the truth of His unchanging nature (faithful, true, loving, just, merciful, powerful etc ) so that nothing else holds us and we are free to venture with Him into the unknown and help birth the “new thing” He desires to establish in His kingdom on the earth today.
All God is looking for from us is a willing heart. If you are willing just pray this simple prayer, “Yes, God, I want to forget the former things, I don’t want to dwell in the past. Teach me how to close the old doors of the past season so that You can open the new doors in my life.”
Heather Clark has a worship song called Come In. As we listen and worship to this together, let it be a corporate declaration to the Lord that we are part of that remnant willing to journey with Him into the “new thing” today!

Come In - Heather Clark (click link to listen – a window will open in your internet browser. To download the mp3 simply right click on the browser and select “save source as”)
Come in, come in King of Glory
Come in come In, we welcome You this day
I have come to greet the King
I have come to give myself in total abandonment
I’ve come to lay down all that holds me back from You
I’ve come to lay down all that holds You back from me
Have you ever been taunted by the enemy? Bombarded with relentless thoughts that what you are doing, what you are believing for is never going to happen? You aren’t going to get healed, fulfill your destiny or ever be truly free from the cycles of death that seem to circle endlessly in your life.
For me these kind of attacks have increased exponentially ever since we committed ourselves to walk this journey with God to see the restoration and release of our generation, Gen X. And it’s not like the enemy doesn’t have a lot of good material with which to work. In the natural, the situation looks pretty grim. We aren’t exactly at our prime time for mobilization. Knee-deep in kids, careers, and mortgages, youthful dreams of spiritual quests have been all but replaced by more immediate challenges – like trying to figure out where all the cordless phones went – again - or how to convince the kids to stay in bed that extra precious ½ hour on a Saturday morning. And if the busyness and cares of life weren’t challenging enough, half of the Gen Xers and almost no one in the other generations even know who we are. Many Xers in the Church wrestle with hope deferred and disillusionment, while even more of our generation, who genuinely love God won’t even darken the door of a church.
It seems pretty hopeless – until you realize that activating demoralized, disenfranchised, discouraged, and in-debt people is not, in fact, outside the Lord’s experiential sphere. Take David, hiding out in a cave, on the run from the spear-wielding, priest-killing King Saul, having “all those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him”. (I Samuel 22:2). Those guys? They became the mighty men.
Or how about Gideon?
The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”
The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.” Judges 6:11-15
I just love Gideon’s candor. An angel appears before him, makes some amazing pronouncements and how does he respond? "Excuse me, but uh… where exactly IS God these days? And what do mean, save Israel, clearly you have the wrong address. I’m nobody.”
And yet God is incredibly patient walking Gideon through his self-doubt. One fleece at a time.
Finally Gideon manages to muster up 32000 men to fight the Midianites. Things are looking up.
God’ response? “Nah, too many men, let’s cut this down, let all the fearful ones go. Hmmm, still 10000 hey? Nope, still too many. Let’s see who will lap water like a dog versus get on his knees. 300? Yeah, I can work with 300. At least now, there will be no question when the enemy is defeated before your eyes that it was Me and not your own strength that really saved you."
As Xers, we are at perhaps the weakest place in our lives. Yet, God is speaking to us that He wants to mobilize us into a great army. It seems ridiculous. Most of us are still stuck at the Gideon- excuse-me-God-WHERE-exactly-have-You-been-let’s-say-for-the-last-two-decades stage. Surely He has the wrong people…
And yet, remarkably, He doesn’t. He sees who we are even if we can’t anymore. And yes, it’s true, right now we are a small, scattered remnant, lacking in any real influence, at least as most people would see it.
But that’s not our problem – our problem is we’ve believed a lie that our weakness, our brokenness has somehow disqualified us. When in fact we’re exactly where God wants us to be.
But He said to me “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
If we really want to close the old doors of the past over our lives and our generation, I think this is the first one that has to close. We have to accept that as hard and confusing as things might have been, as much as we may have suffered, in it all God was and is sovereign and He always knew what He was doing with our lives and our generation. We aren’t late, we haven’t missed it and despite how it may look, we are not hopeless.
And we don’t need to try to “fix ourselves” to be strong enough or good enough or wise enough for God to do what He wants to do with us. We just need to embrace the weakness, fully, unashamedly.
When we were younger, we used to talk about being a “nameless, faceless” generation who would take none of the glory from God.
And that’s exactly who He has prepared us to be. And when God, by His own Hand and by His own power, does through Gen X what He has promised and has written it in eternity, it will be a sign and a wonder. And He will be seen as the glorious King that He is and nobody will ever be able to take that glory away from Him.
If this resonates with your heart, please join in this prayer. “Father the longing of my heart is that You would be exalted and seen as the King that You are, through my life and through our generation. Today, as Gen X, we want to close an old door through which the enemy has spoken many lies. We acknowledge that You are sovereign and faithful and perfect in all Your ways and timings. You have not forgotten us nor has anything we have suffered or experienced been without purpose. We choose today to embrace our weakness and to glory in it, believing that Your grace is more than sufficient and that Your power is made perfect in our weakness.. In Jesus name, Amen.
As we worship together with this song, You Must Increase, may this declaration of His Lordship ring out over our cities and nation!
Love

Our desire is to hear what God is saying for the August meeting and more broadly what He is revealing concerning Gen X in this hour through as wide a representation of the Body as possible. If you have something you feel to share, please email us at share@awakenthedream.org.
After the Lord spoke to us about calling Gen Xers to gather this August in Edmonton, we began to seek Him as to how He wanted us to prepare (and find the people who were to be invited). He directed us to begin in Vancouver, meeting with Gen Xers at the church that Caleb and Rebecca attend. This is a church with a strong legacy of intercession for the nation.
To Caleb and Rebecca’s surprise as they began making a list of all the gen Xers to invite, they realized that there were more than 50 in their congregation. Even more interestingly, like so many Xers, they had never actually all met together as a generation.
The weekend we picked to go was something chosen very pragmatically – Robin is in university and we planned to go the first weekend after she finished her exams. But it was not, as we turned out, without divine design.
We arrived Thursday to spend some time together as a team and Friday morning we had the opportunity to attend a prayer meeting at the senior pastor’s home. This meeting has been going on for years and is attended by leaders and intercessors from the church, as well as pastors from other churches. They graciously invited us to share and we explained that God had placed it on our hearts simply to honour them as a church for their faithful labour on behalf of God’s desires for Canada and for the impact it had on each of our lives personally.
After the meeting, one of the church leaders, Mei, (the wife of the senior pastor, who is really a co-pastor and incidentally, Caleb’s mom) pulled me (Stephanie) aside in the kitchen. She said that while we were honouring them the Lord spoke to her about the Gen X. He brought to her attention the scripture where Moses says, “If I have found favour in your eyes God…” Most of us are familiar with this verse, from Exodus 33:13 “if I have found favour in your eyes, God, teach me Your ways.” But the Lord reminded her that there was another instance of this prayer, where Moses made a very different request. It is in Numbers 11.
11-15 Moses said to God, “Why are you treating me this way? What did I ever do to you to deserve this? Did I conceive them? Was I their mother? So why dump the responsibility of this people on me? Why tell me to carry them around like a nursing mother, carry them all the way to the land you promised to their ancestors? Where am I supposed to get meat for all these people who are whining to me, ‘Give us meat; we want meat.’ I can’t do this by myself—it’s too much, all these people. If this is how you intend to treat me, do me a favor and kill me. I’ve seen enough; I’ve had enough. Let me out of here.” (Message Bible
And the Lord spoke to her and said, “this is how the Gen X feel.” They are discouraged, they despair of ever being able to see what they are longing for and they feel like they would rather die than live in the pain of unfulfilled destiny. But I want to shift them, to bring them to the place of hope, where they are ready to walk with Me and let Me show them My ways.”
As she shared this, I was reminded of something I had read a few weeks before while studying about Passover on a Jewish website. In a list of Jewish holidays, I noticed that April 28, which was the Sunday we would be visiting Vancouver, was a minor holiday known as Lag B’Omer and was described like this.
Lag B’Omer literally means “the 33rd day of the Counting of the Omer,” the time period between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot. The Omer is the 49 days between the Jews’ emancipation from Egypt on Passover and the day the Torah was handed down at Mt. Sinai on Shavuot. Counting the Omer serves as a daily reminder that the Jews’ freedom wasn’t complete until the Torah was received. The first 32 days of the Omer are observed as a period of partial mourning, but on the 33rd day, the ban on celebration is lifted.* On this day, we commemorate a break in the plague that killed 24,000 of Rabbi Akiva’s disciples. The plague was sent by God because Rabbi Akiva’s followers didn’t conduct themselves with respect toward one another. On Lag B’Omer we celebrate the day the dying ceased.
When I read the phrase “the day the dying ceased” something leapt in my spirit. But I didn’t know quite what to do with it, so I tucked it away in my “hmm what is that God?” file. But now as I heard Mei share that God wanted to move the Gen X from a place of death to a place of life, I knew there was something more God wanted to show us.
The next day, Saturday, we had an all-day, Gen X-only meeting so that people could have the opportunity to share transparently. For hours we listened as people opened their hearts about their discouragement but even more so about their overwhelming longing to see the presence of God manifested in the Church in a way we have not yet seen. “Sometimes,” one girl said, “I’m afraid to even allow myself to go there because I feel like the intensity of it, it won’t come out nice and neat and orderly. It’s going to be raw and messy and desperate – and I’m not always sure the Church, and especially the leaders, are ready for that.”
Hearing the same cry, the same sadness over and over again was a bit overwhelming. At one point, I thought “Oh Lord, how is this ever going to heal and release our generation?” But as quickly as I thought it He answered me “they are more ready than you think.”
That afternoon we asked Mei, who had come to the church to help prepare lunch for us to share with us what the Lord had shown her. (The church was unbelievably supportive, the leadership was there, making food, and a team of intercessors camped out the whole day in a little office across from our meeting room, determined to pray and run spiritual interference with the enemy, so that the Gen Xers could really hear one another and the Lord.) After Mei spoke, I briefly shared about Lag B’omer and then suddenly the pieces of the puzzle started coming together for us. We realized it wasn’t an accident we were meeting this particular weekend and in this place. It was a divine set up and God confirmed that He wanted the Gen Xers from this church to stand on their righteous foundations as an intercessory front for the nation and make the declaration, by faith, over all the Xers in Canada, that this was the day the dying ceases.
We asked those who felt they could make this declaration to stand. But we also knew that there were some who are still in their healing process and didn’t yet feel the strength to stand. So we told them not to feel pressured to stand. Instead we asked those who were already standing to go to them and lift them up. This was a prophetic picture that when we move into what the Lord has promised our generation, we are leaving no one behind. Suddenly God’s presence charged the air and spontaneously those standing began praying over those they had lifted up. There was an unexpected and powerful move of the Holy Spirit that happened as God began touching people deeply.
During this time, one of the Xers shared with us that he felt God wanted us to do the same prophetic act that Elisha had directed King Jehoash to do in 2 Kings 13. It witnessed with us so at the end of the afternoon, we stood together and prophetically “shot arrows” towards the East and then dropped to our knees and began striking the ground over and over, committing that Gen Xers will not let go until we see the glory of God flood Canada from sea to sea to sea. It was one of those times when you know something is shifting in heaven as God supernaturally amplifies our simply earthly actions. There was a roar as we struck the ground that sounded like hundreds of thousands not 50 or 60 of us! The pleasure of the Lord (the tangible presence of God that comes with great peace) descended on the room and we knew that whatever God had wanted us to do, we had been obedient to accomplish it.
The next day, which was actually Lag B’Omer, we had an opportunity to share with the whole church what the Lord had shown us the day before. And then the Gen Xers from the church stood together and called all the generations in the church to declare together that this is the day the dying ceases and to strike the ground by faith.
Throughout scripture we see examples of God using a remnant to stand in the gap and break through on behalf of the whole Body. While we don’t have empirical proof, the Lord assured us in our hearts that this was an important strike in the ground and something did indeed shift over our generation that day (April 28). And we believe that as we continue to walk this journey, together with God, we will see more and more of the “death” that has tried to entangle our generation swallowed up in victory!
If you would like to hear what was shared and declared that Sunday morning, you can click here for the MP3 of that service. (click the link to listen – a window will open in your internet browser. To download the mp3 simply right click on the browser and select “save source as”)
If you feel this word is resonating in your heart, then let’s pray this prayer together: “Father, I thank you that You have said that the time of dying is over for Gen X. I receive this as your word to my life personally and for the lives of every Gen Xer in this nation. Father, we believe that as we go forward you will continue to bring life from death and fulfill all Your purposes in our generation. In Jesus’ name, amen!
Let’s continue over the days and weeks to come to make this declaration over our lives and generation by worshiping together with the songs below.

I was a dried up river
A burned down forest
No one could do anything for me
But You put food in my body
And water in my dry bed
And to my blackened branches
You brought spring time green
And new life
You brought me new life
You have made all my deserts into gardens
You have made all my deserts into gardens (repeat)
Now I am made newNew life! New life!
You brought the springtime green and new life
And the blackened branches bloom again
Fill all the land with the fragrance
See the winter has passed
The rains are over and gone
And the flowers appear on the earth
And the season of singing has come (repeat)
The season of singing
The season of rejoicing
You have turned my mourning
You give me beauty for ashes
And the garments of praise
For heaviness
Season of singing
Lift your voices and sing out, sing out
Proclaim a new singing is here
A season of singing
‘Cause winter is over
Winter is over!
The flowers appear

You Must Go Up and Through - A Word of Encouragement and Confirmation
Don’t you love it when God goes out of His way to confirm His word to you? It’s His way of saying, “Keep going, you are hearing right, don’t listen to all those other voices trying to discourage or confuse you.”
One of the Gen Xers from Niverville, MB just forwarded us this great confirmation from a well-known leader in the U.S., Lance Wallnau.
You must go up to go through!
June 7, 2013 | By Lance Wallnau
“I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven.”
Revelation 4:1
There is a door now opened—in the heavens. You must go up to go through!
This has felt like a season of colliding spiritual climates. Erratic warfare: release and heaviness, brilliant light followed by sudden darkness—and not just in the same day—sometimes the same ten minutes! While praying, my wife contacted me and said she heard the words, “a changing of the guard.” I’m not sure what all that means to you, but the atmosphere has shifted and the angelic realm is upgrading all around you!
I sensed the Lord say to us, “I am going before you.” There has been a distinct advance and change of activity in the heavens. We are contending for destiny, and that individual destiny is connected to our individual position in the Spirit. More specifically, our promotions are now connected to the strength of our inner man; our capacity to go up and go through the door of transition into a new anointing and new season of harvest. The door is open … the voice is calling … the timing is now.
In Revelation when John looked and saw the open door, it was “standing” not moving. It was “in heaven” not on earth. This is a door made available in the spirit realm—right over your existing situation. I see now the reason for the seemingly violent shifts of atmosphere. It is because our spirit man must grow in strength in order to access and go into this new dimension. If we are to see more heaven on earth, we must be seated in this heavenly realm.
Then John heard, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this” (Revelation 4:3). John was told that when he went through the door into the next dimension, he would see things to come. A heightened level of prophetic perception is operating in those who have strength to see and hear—to go through (and stay through) the open door.
If we will stay in this heavenly dimension of authority, the things that vexed and harassed and clung to us will fall off. There is an anointing for upgrade upon us now. Previous performance won’t disqualify you. Heaven is calling you up into a closer intimacy—a more glorious obsession with the Godhead. This is the secret to the overcoming life: Open Door In Heaven (Right Above Your Existing Circumstance) = More Grace and Increase
This means less of all the weights and restrictions that held you down during the last season of wrestling. Let’s go up and go through together!

So much of this word resonates with what we have been hearing – “The door is open … the voice is calling … the timing is now.”
Our friend Tracy Rahn, a worship leader from Abbotsford, wrote a wonderful song called People on Our Knees. Let’s sing this as our declaration that no matter what, we are going “up and through” the open door!

There’s no more wasting time
The days are nearly over
Our Groom is quickly coming
He greets us with a kiss
And proclaims, “You have been chosen
For such a time as this”
I choose to follow You
Forsaking all I know
And taking up my cross
And if I die, I die
To find my life in You
Oh Lord this is my cry
Hi everyone
We received this word via email yesterday. Doug Addison is a trusted prophetic voice from the States and this word really resonated with us as a team and so we felt to share it.
As Doug says, we pray people’s eyes are opened to see what is happening right now and to realize that we are living in exciting days!

Doug Addison: July through End of the Year: A Time of Promises Fulfilled
June Gloom Lifting
The month of June started for many people with a spiritual gloom. There has been an attack on people's minds to get them to believe the things that God has promised them will never happen. For me, June has been the biggest challenge with my daily prophetic words. I normally get them all very quickly, a month to six weeks in advance. It spiritually felt like trudging through mud this month. This is symbolic of what many people are going through right now. Things are moving slower than normal and not as clear.
Philippians 1:6 (NIV) ..being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
The way to respond in unclear times is to keep moving forward. It's similar to driving through an unexpected fog bank. The sun is still shining above the fog, and it will eventually break through. Remain calm, steady and carry on!
June Is a Time To Complete Things
God is bringing healing to many people who have suffered from "hope deferred" (Proverbs 13:12), or what I call prophetic disappointments. July through the end of the year will be a time of "promises fulfilled." Many things that God has promised you will begin to take shape. We will see lots of movement and relocation.
That being said, June is a time of closure for an old season that is coming to an end. Tie up loose ends, make preparations, and get ready to cross over to a new season starting in July.
New Sound and Creativity
I have had several dreams this month about new music and creativity coming from Heaven. I saw new instruments, including an electronic cello connected to a guitar and a computer. There is new anointing from God coming to musicians, new creative song writing, and new sounds that will open the spiritual realm. Step out and try new things musically.
This new sound from Heaven is intended to create breakthrough in the spiritual realm. It is not limited to churches and will begin to spill over into secular music that has deep spiritual roots. It will have an amazing, positive effect on people.
Trumpet Blast Calls People Into Place
On Sunday, June 9, I heard a trumpet blast in the Spirit and God spoke to me that this is a call for people to begin to fall in their places. God is aligning people into places and positions that will allow them to operate at their maximum potential.
There is a major shifting that is happening right now that will begin to align people into their destiny at a greater pace. We can expect to see a lot of movement and change over the next couple of months. There will be a gathering of people who have been drawn to particular places.
Another aspect of this trumpet blast was to wake people up who have been in reserve. There are many of you who are being reserved or seemingly put on hold for a future time. This time is now! You will get greater revelation as to what and where God is calling you as you step out.
Wounded Warriors Rising
Part of the prophetic word I received with the trumpet blast was that there are "wounded warriors" who are now being refitted and re-purposed and will begin to emerge. God reminded me of a scene from the beginning of the movie Dark Knight Rising in which Batman was on the sidelines living in obscurity. Cat Woman (the enemy) breaks into his cave of isolation and robs him of his fingerprints (his identity). This attack motivated him to come out of hiding and get refitted in order to fight back.
There are battle-weary, wounded warriors who have been suffering from rejection and living in isolation. They are coming back on the scene, as the reality of the enemy robbing them will bring about a new strength to fight back. It is interesting that, at the end of the movie, Cat Woman ends up helping Batman. This is a prophetic parable that the enemy must repay for all that is lost. People who were once enemies will become allies.
One of the biggest prophetic messages in the movie Dark Knight Rising was that the superhero could not save the day alone as he did in the past. He had to rely on others. This emphasizes how we need unity in the Spirit like never before.
God is calling people into place right now. Watch for people to rise from obscurity. People who have been previously considered spiritual outcasts will experience a new movement of God's power and love.
Pray that we have eyes to see what God is doing right now! This is an exciting time to be alive.

Over the past few weeks, we have been seeking the Lord about all the details for the August gathering. We know it’s not like a typical conference where specific people are invited to teach or do ministry according to a pre-determined agenda. It’s more like an adventure; the Father is inviting us to gather in Edmonton because He wants to release something for and through Gen Xers. To do so, He needs a remnant from all generations who are willing to lay down their own ideas and ways and even their right to know exactly what will happen so they can journey with Him for those three days. So as of right now, our only plan is to worship and wait in His presence and give Him the maximum freedom to lead us into His will, His way.
We also feel the gathering is a connecting time for kindred spirits (to borrow from Anne of Green Gables). To facilitate this we have decided to order in reasonably-priced lunches and dinners so we can have our meals together between sessions (details and registration for the meals to come).
We have also been seeking the Lord about what is the right plan for the children and that has been a really interesting journey for us. Knowing many Gen Xers have little kids, it’s almost become a default that if you want Gen Xers in the meeting, you should provide child care. But the word the Lord has been speaking to us is to forget the former things – to let go of the structures and ideas of how things “should be” so that we can perceive and embrace the new thing He is doing. Ever since we made this commitment to let God erase the past and prepare us like a blank slate for what He wants to reveal for the future, He has been exposing so many of the “shoulds” in our lives. The “shoulds” are default ways of thinking – things that we do automatically without even consulting God because they seem rational, reasonable, or even common sense.
You can see that we were operating under just such a “reasonable default” by what we previously posted on the website about the kids: recognizing that many Gen Xers have young children, we are looking to provide child care (ages infant to 12 years of age) based on the needs of those attending.
It all seems very logical except that as believers we are supposed to respond to the voice of God, not react to the needs of people. That’s why Jesus sometimes ministered to just one person, even when hundreds were pressing in around Him. As compassionate as He was, He wasn’t moved by the needs of people or their expectations – He was fully submitted to the will of the Father, only doing what He saw the Father doing and speaking only what He heard the Father speaking. (John 6:38, John 8:38, John 12:49,50)
So the Lord started exposing our “should” mindset about Gen X and kids. One of the ways He did this was by frustrating all our attempts to organize child care. There was just zero grace for it. Then as we began to talk as a team, we discovered that most of us felt not to bring our own kids (we have 20 kids between us). From that we then reasoned that maybe God wanted our undivided attention as Xers and so we were to make the gathering adult-only. And even though we wrote an email explaining all of this, we could not find a peace to send it. So we waited.
Then last Friday morning during our team conference call, we listened to an excerpt from a conference call the Alberta Project group had the night before. Siobhan, one of the Gen Xers who is coordinating worship nights in Calgary, shared, “In Calgary our worship times are kind of crazy, but it seems like God is bringing us to a place where we can press in and hear Him in the midst of chaos. We have lots of small kids and there are times when they are engaged, but there are other times they are just banging around with toys. But I feel this is a picture of our lives. He is asking us to press in when everything is loud around us. It’s not a clear quiet place, and part of me wonders if this isn’t part of our preparation for the days to come.”
Immediately we felt the witness of the Spirit on what Siobhan was sharing because we know many Gen Xers who are so focused on the “chaos” of their lives that they feel hopeless (this is never going to change, it’s too late for me) or frustrated (all these responsibilities are preventing me from being with God); the “chaos” has become a stumbling block that makes it hard for them to see how they can possibly step up into spiritual leadership at this point in their lives.
And yet we know that God’s ways and timings are perfect. What if He deliberately waited to release Gen Xers until this most inconvenient time of life because He wants to use us to birth something new – a new capacity to live in the Spirit at all times? Maybe instead of requiring God to change our circumstances before we step into what He is asking us to do, we need to simply obey by faith and believe that He will meet us in the whirlwind in a way we have never experienced before.
Hearing Siobhan also revealed to us that we had unknowingly fallen into another “default” mindset - “if there is no childcare, then kids shouldn’t attend.” So in order to bring ourselves into alignment with what the Lord is revealing, although there will not be a formal kid’s program or child care, the door is open for children to join us in worship and/or the rest of the meetings. As far as what is available at the church, there is a large nursery area and we may be able to get access to a few children’s church rooms. You are also welcome to bring someone with you to help you with your kids, if this is what you feel to do. Please be aware though that the church is located in a converted warehouse space in an industrial area so there are no parks or playgrounds nearby.
Above all, we want to encourage you not to fall into default ways of thinking like we did. A big default pattern for Xers is “If there is no child care, I can’t come.” If the Lord is asking you to be at the meeting, He has a plan for your kids. If you choose to obey Him and trust Him, He will take care of all that concerns you.
This week for worship we’ve chosen a prophetic song called “Deeper” sung by Heather Clark and Tracy Rahn . As we worship together, may this song be our corporate commitment to let go of our circumstances and let God open new doors to take us to deeper places of intimacy and communion with the Spirit than we have ever experienced before.
Love,
